g) ITINERARY 7 - PATH OF SAINT CHARLES - From Pettinengo to the Sanctuary of San Giovanni D'Andorno

Itinerary Description
The trail runs along the hills of the lower part of the Valle Cervo, through towns, settlements, villages and woods with little overall difference in elevation but a long distance to travel.
The journey starts at the entrance of Pettinengo (Villa Piazzo), and follows the asphalted road toward Selve Marcone. After the turn for Vaglio, the itinerary follows a path for Andorno Micca.
It is worth a detour of about 30 m. in both directions to see the Oratory of Santa Maria degli Eremiti.
Then, we proceed to Locato Superiore to reach Tavigliano (Parish Church and Town Hall), and continue to the hamlet Sella (also on the paved road). The houses of Usciso and Penno are on the road to Sella. The path climbs to reach the trail for the Naulito refuge huts, on a trail that leads to Rialmosso. From this hamlet to Campiglia Cervo, the road is paved, pleasant and not busy at all, as it goes through the villages of Roreto and Quittengo. Great panoramic views.
At Campiglia Cervo, we go through the town and over the bridge spanning the river Cervo to walk uphill to the village of Oretto Superiore, and then take the mule trail towards the Sanctuary of San Giovanni d'Adorno.
